PREPARE THE FORCE TRAILER

Each year one of the military service branches served as the host for the IITSEC conference. The host was responsible for choosing and promoting a theme, and developing branding for the main conference materials. When the Army (through PEO STRI) hosted IITSEC in 2011, DFC was ask to create two video trailers - one to tease it throughout the year and an extended version to open the event.

*3D modeling and animation by Chris Husein and Matt Crane
The entire project team worked together to conceptualize the video - with two 3D artists on the team, an animated approach was chosen. The black and white, graphic shader was chosen because we liked the look but it also provided some key advantages. With a clean, simplified foreground,  we could use color and additional background element to help tell the story. I set to work designing a graphic look that, when married together, gave the overall design a sense of the training vs reality of the battlefield. We wanted the whole video to feel dynamic, with a lot of action, but we didn't have the time for elaborate animation, so I used an animated camera and strategic cuts as well as visual effect and motion in the background to better achieve the goal.
